This is the latest in a series of Idealized Paintings that I’ve done. I discovered a how-to for the technique in Zoltan Szabo’s 70 Favorite Watercolor Techniques, though I it’s a style of seen often before, and I suspect there is another term for it.
The golden trees I’ve been using were inspired by Szabo’s how-to, and I’ve stayed with them until I felt I had the idea firmly in my head. I get easily bored, so I think I’m going to branch out now. I want to play with the style more, but there are lots of different colors, subjects and shapes to explore!
